Here are some shots from 3 recent Engagement Shoots. What’s great about the Engagement Session is it’s a wonderful opportunity for me to spend some time with the couple whose wedding I’m going to be photographing. So, we go for a walk, chat, take some pix, get to know each other a bit. So, on the day of the wedding any nervousness the couple (or more usually the guy
) might have about the photos is mitigated and I just seem like another person along for the crazy ride. Anyway, here are some of my faves:
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of photographing Laura & Trevor’s wedding. We started off with only immediate family attending the ceremony in a barn on a piece of land outside of Orillia. God bless the meteorologists for being wrong on so many occasions this summer because they were calling for rain by midday. With threatening clouds overhead we forged ahead and by the time the rain finally arrived we had finished all the pictures. It would have been a big shame not to get the pix up there – lots of wonderful textures and spots. After a lovely catered meal we all got on the limo bus and headed down to Toronto to join about 150 friends and family for the reception at Gossip Restaurant. I’d never been there before. Very chic indeed and the food was fantastic. Overall, an awesome day. Here are some teaser pix:
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of photographing Krystal & Steve’s wedding at The Doctor’s House in picturesque Kleinburg. Here are some teaser shots from a most excellent day.
Here are some teaser pix from yesterday’s lovely wedding of Andrea & Neil. A wonderful time was had by all at the elegant Windsor Arms Hotel, with the couple shots being taken at Osgoode Hall. Enjoy!
It’s always extra fun to shoot weddings that arise from a referral because it’s great to see couples whose weddings I’ve previously photographed. This past Friday there were two past couples at the wedding so there were lots of familiar faces – and this extended group of family and friends know how to party. The reception was at the Lake House in Pickering, which is a lovely spot with a marina and waterfront. It was a glorious day for weather and the lighting for the couple shots was perfect. Here are some teaser shots:
It’s extra fun being a part of mixed weddings when all parties are lovely people and the order of the day is love and friendship and nothing else. We started off at the Hilton Suites Markham (where Nathan and his lads had to jump through some hoops to even get in the room, let alone the many push-ups they ended up doing), then moved on to the Markham Civic Centre. It was a wonderful day. Here are some teaser pix from the day:

My Personal Recommendation As To The Best Help Available Anywhere – Guaranteed!
I did eventually find a book that met all of my demands. The book is called ‘Groom Speeches – Say the Right Words at the Right Time’, by Dan Stevens. The book is available in traditional printed form or as an ebook, which is instantly downloadable. Click here to learn more: Review – Groom Speeches by Dan Stevens.
Out of all the dross this was the one I used for my own groom speech which turned out heaps better than I could have achieved on my own. If you are looking for one source which has all of the information you require, this is it. I recommended it to a few of my close friends and they have all thanked me for it.
It contains a step by step guide to writing memorable speeches and 20 professionally written example speeches with tips and ideas guarenteed to make. Probably the main selling-point of the book is the speeches themselves: These speeches have been deliberately written in such a way that you can easily individualize them to meet your own needs: all you have to do is insert the appropriate names and places, and voila: you have a speech that’s guaranteed to evoke emotion and have everyone in stitches for several minutes.
However, there’s a great deal more included than just the speeches themselves:

Whether you know it or not your wedding invitations say a lot about what your wedding plans are. They are the first impression people will have of what the day and theme are likely to be like. These are good reasons why you need to make wedding invitations that will inspire your guests to come to your wedding. And so, if you are planning a wedding in Autumn then autumn wedding invitations are ideal.
Autumn colors provide a rich palette for your wedding invitations so you should maximize these colors in order to make your wedding invitations warmer and more intimate. For starters, select warm colors for the background and designs of your wedding invitations. Be sure to incorporate burnt orange, dark reds, golden browns and copper. You may combine some of these colors but make sure to balance dark and light hues to make your invitations visually appealing.
Try using handmade, parchment or recycled paper for your autumn invitations. The type of paper you use can easily assist in getting the right look and feel. The best place to check for stores selling these types of paper – often less expensive than anywhere else – is online. So as not to be concerend about making the wrong decision, be sure to see whether the online store offers to send out samples of the paper you are thinking of using for your autumn invitations. You simply pay the shipping and you will receive samples so you can see and touch the products before you make a decision.
There is no reason to be hampered by just a 2D design either when you can easily add buttons or ribbons, natural elements or any other autumn embellishments to give the invitations your unique creative touch. You can also use digital art to your advantage. Include autumn-inspired photos or digital designs. To add the final touches, why not enclose your invitations in envelopes with a themed red wax seal.
