The Wedding of Beth & Kevin

Recently had the pleasure of photographing Beth & Kevin’s wedding at Fantasy Farm, a great venue for doing everything in one place (including having the huge bridal suite with old-school red shag carpet!).  We did the couple and wedding party pix ahead of time – hence the unveiling shot – followed by the outdoor ceremony.  This being my second Fantasy Farm wedding, one of the highlights is the barbecue dinner, cooked up on the awesome outdoor grill – very tasty.  The bigger highlight was Beth & Kevin being introduced into the hall and doing an amazing dance number worthy of youtube posting – it looked like something out of ‘Dancing with the Stars”.  Good times!  Here are some pix:

The Wedding of Dorota & Jason

At a recent wedding someone asked me about photographing unattractive brides.  I let her know that every bride really is beautiful – all done up, in that white dress, and glowing from the fact they are marrying the love of their life.  Of course, sometimes a bride is well… just beautiful.  Enter Dorota (you’re not so bad looking yourself Jason!).  Lovely couple and another incredible weather day.  We started out at the Radisson Hotel on Queen’s Quay West – a nice hotel that suddenly went up a notch when we discovered an awesome staircase.  Onwards to Holy Rosary Church for the ceremony.  Then on to the Atlantis Pavilions at Ontario Place for the pictures and reception.  Yet another Canadian couple who were both born in far off places and had to come to Toronto to find their other half.  This is a special place we live in.  Here are some pix:

The Wedding of Nissrine & Alessandro

One of wonderful aspects of being a Canadian wedding photographer are the many mixed couples.  Seeing two different cultures come together, as individuals and families, makes me feel optimistic about humanity – especially when the couple, in this case, Nissrine and Alessandro, are so easy-going and obviously mega into each other.  Yesterday was my third wedding at Vineland Estates Winery.  With the magnificent weather we had, it was really a magical backdrop – that sunset was ridiculously inspiring.  And thanks to Nissrine’s awesome mom for hooking me up with two boxes of sweets to take away – and yes, the baklava was rather special!  I extremely love some of these pix:

The Wedding of Nat & Ken

There are fun, easy-going couples, and then there are Nat and Ken – all of which was thoroughly tested as for the first time in my 9 years of wedding photography I was caught out in the rain with the newly hitched couple.  We were a mere 2 minute walk away from The Great Hall when it began to pour.  At first we hid under a tree but that didn’t cut it.  We had to make a run for it.  And yes, we were soaked.  But, everything you need to know about Nat you can tell from the look on her face in the picture as she’s running in from the rain.  After all, as she said, the weather was so hot and humid it was refreshing!!  My kind of bride (you’re pretty cool too, Ken!) on a day filled with a megaton of laughs… and genuine love.  Check out some pix.

Maternity Pix in Dundas Square

As a portrait photographer, once in a while I get to do something a little different.  I recently had one of my funnest Maternity Shoots.  Chris said she was up for an adventure.  I threw out Dundas Square.  She said why not.  We started off at her place then headed downtown.  It was a blast.  Here are some pix:

The Wedding of Leah & Paul

Third time is the charm as I’m back once again for a wedding at the Lakehouse in Pickering, ye of the wonderful sunsets (see below).  Leah and Paul continue the trend of really great people I get to photograph.  It was a laid back event with the ceremony – attended by close family – taking place first, followed by the reception, all at the Lakehouse.  As you can see, lots of laughter and love.  Here are some teaser pix from what turned out to be a glorious day in every way:

The Wedding of Roxana & Nahel

A couple of times a year I’m treated to photographing the wedding of friends – like Roxana.  Our families have known each other for about 30 years.  So this one was really personal.  Roxana and Nahel – a truly lovely guy – wanted a simple affair.  So, there was the City Hall Ceremony followed a couple of days later by the Muslim ceremony at home followed the next day by the party (at the amazing Thompson Landry Gallery in the Distillery). Here is the photomontage slideshow with highlights from all three days. Congratulations to you guys – and thank you for having me be a part of it.

The Wedding of Meghan & Derek

It was an extra pleasure photographing Meghan and Derek’s wedding yesterday because they are the fourth referral from within their extended group – always fun to be seated at a table with two couples from weddings past  and to see their families again too (and I’m shooting another couple from their group in a month).  The ceremony and reception were held at the 4 Seasons Golf Club in Claremont.  It was a lovely spot and after the insane humidity of earlier in the week we were blessed with ideal conditions.  I knew in advance that this would be a fun wedding because both bride and groom like to laugh and have a smokin’ good time (I could not help but notice Derek’s amazing dance moves at previous weddings – he’s a legend!!).   And you know it’s love when a Raiders fan can get along with a Steelers fan.  The rain held off for the coup de gras – Meghan’s mom surprised them with an amazing professional fireworks display that blew everyone away.  Congratulations to you guys and have a blast in Jamaica.  Here are some pix from the day:
