"The Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) is an annual event that brings teams of students and their faculty advisors from universities worldwide to participate in a unique 3-day simulated market challenge."
In February, 2023, we photographed the annual RITC at the University of Toronto. This entailed photographing the competition, as well as providing a headshot studio for 3 hours during the first day (a wonderful complimentary take-away for attendees). In these 3 hours we took over 160 headshots. We specialize in speedy, volume corporate headshots (ie) 30-45 seconds per person. This may seem very fast, especially with how much time most other headshot photographers take, but seeing the quality we attain so quickly is believing (see gallery with everyone's headshots).
The end of Day 1 also had all attendees go to the Toronto Stock Exchange (TMX) to experience the closing bell, which was a lot of fun for everyone. The end of Day 3 was the awards reception held at the Hockey Hall of Fame.
As for the event pix, these had the potential to be quite dry because much of it had attendees sitting at computers doing trades, with few people showing much reaction or emotion. Here is where another of our strengths comes in to sharp relief: namely, being present and aware, so that when these moments do occur we get the shots. Hence why Sonya Ho, Project Coordinator, said of the final pix, "these are unreal!".
